Joseph Elbert Norman, age 78, of Glennville, Georgia passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 27, 2022 at Ogeechee Area Hospice after a lengthy illness. He was a lifelong resident of the Gooseneck community in Tattnall county.
Born November 8, 1944 to Elbert and Louise Norman, Joe, to all who knew him, graduated from Glennville High School in 1962. He married Joyce Lewis Norman of Claxton in 1963; they had two children, Joey and Angel. Joe was a farmer and was dedicated to providing for his wife and children in all aspects of his life.
Joe was a big NASCAR fan. He also enjoyed many different varieties of hunting through out stages of his life with rabbit hunting being a particular favorite. He even raised and sold Beagle puppies for a while. He was gifted with a wonderful knack for working with engines and anything mechanical. He was always happiest when he was outdoors “working on something” under one of his shelters.
Joe will be missed and never forgotten; he was a wonderful man who loved life and his family. His families’ love for him will live on in their memories forever.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Elbert Stewart Norman, and Louise Moody Norman. He is survived by his wife Joyce Lewis Norman, his children Joseph Elbert Norman, Jr. and Angela Norman Hethcox (Chad), five grandchildren Blake Norman, Noah Hallman, Sarah Hethcox, Joseph Norman, and Julia Hethcox, and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends whose lives were touched by Joe are invited to Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home in Glennville, Georgia on Thursday, December 1, 2022 from 10:00am until 11:00am. for visitation. The funeral services will be held at 11:00am in the chapel. Burial will follow at Harmony Church Cemetery.
