Charles Nixon

Charles Nixon, 66, passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2017. He was the son of the late Betty Joyce Nixon and Frank Edward Nixon, Sr. He was born on December 23, 1950 in Bulloch County, Register, GA.
He attended public schools in Chatham County. He was employed by Great Dane, Longshoreman, and Prospect Engineering Firm in Washington, DC, as a welder. Charles liked designing and inventing machinery to make construction job sites better. He did have one of his inventions to be produced on the market.
At an early age, he accepted Christ at Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Savannah, GA. After completing technical school, he began his welding career that relocated him to Washington, DC where he lived for many years. In 1999 after suffering a massive stroke, he had to relocate to Statesboro to be with family. He resided at Eagle Rehabilitation Center until his passing on December 5, 2017.
He is preceded in death by two brothers and his parents. Left to cherish his memories are his: four children, Charles Stevens (Kysha), Nicole and Naomi Nixon all of Savannah, GA and Charles R.E. Nixon of Washington, DC; Eleven grandchildren, one great-grand of Savannah; One sister, Guinevere (Ann)Ross (Henry) of Register, GA; Five brothers, and three sister-in-laws, Frank Nixon, Jr., Stanley Nixon (Rena), John Nixon (Stephanie) all of Statesboro; Stewart (Stevie) Nixon (Denise) of Raleigh, NC and Dale & Justin Nixon of Durham, NC; Two aunts, Edna Parrish of Statesboro, GA; Emma Taylor of West Orange, NJ; Two uncles, Andrew Nixon of Manchester, GA and Elbert Chappel of Metter, GA. A Host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 1 p.m. from Lakeside First Baptist Church with Minister Stephanie Nixon officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeside Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be sons, grandsons, and brothers. Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of Stevens Temple Church of Christ and deacons of Lakeside First Baptist.
